The adt-audio Toolkit series of rack mount units offer a full range of analog audio products around a DAW System. The pro audio devices share the same housing and the same power supply. All Toolkit audio units can easily be combined as a system. The Toolkit front-end unit is the input channel strip solution of the system. The Toolmix and Toolmst devices are primarily designed for the use with a DAW System, but can be used on stage as well. Mastering EQ and Stereo Dynamic Section complete the range of the Toolkit pro audio gear.

The Toolkit, a 1U rack mount input channel strip with separate mic and line inputs, high-pass and low-pass filters, compressor, gate, parametric EQ and limiter, was developed as part of an innovative, modular console system, the ToolCon live production audio console. The most innovative aspect of this system is that the input and processing sections of each channel of the console were designed as individual, rack mountable channel strips, while the rest of the audio mixing desk was designed with a traditional configuration.

This design allows the Toolkit to be used either as a stand alone audio front-end and processing module, as a part of a console, or as a front-end for the Tool devices mixer system. In fact, the Toolkit can be used as a part of any system without the need for any special cables or modifications. The input amplifier and all the processing elements of the Toolkit are based on the tried and proven designs used in our most popular broadcast and music production consoles.

While the three Toolmix devices (16 x 2 and 8 x 2 mixer rack units and control room/monitor control rack unit), can be configured and used in any way the user wishes, they were originally designed as a complete back-end mixer for a DAW system. As usual, our modular approach resulted in a sensibly engineered system that have multiple applications, and almost infinite expandabilitiy.

The ToolMst-Dyn (Stereo Compressor and Limiter) and ToolMst-EQ (mono EQ unit with 8 fully parametric bands high-pass and low-pass filters, high and low shelf filters) complete the range of theTool audio devices. All of these units can be used together to create a front-end, and/or back-end mixer system with the same power supply, or they can be used individually as stand-alone devices.
