While the 5-MT-C is a compact audio console in size, it shares the same heritage as adt-audio's larger mixing consoles; they are modular, and their sonic and build quality are of the highest level. An extensive assortment of input modules, master sections, automation systems and other components of the 5MT system make it possible to construct any compact mixing desk for all types of applications.

Master sections

All master section of the 5MT system can be used in the 5MT-C frames. For stereo mixers the E2, AT and S master sections are suitable. The C type master section is specifically configured for broadcast applications. There are also special master sections for surround sound mixing; the ED master for 4 channel surround and the S6 or ATD master sections for 5.1. All input modules can be used with multi channel master modules. Of course a stereo module will only feed the L and R busses of a multi channel master section.

C series arrangements are built with the same components and the same technology, as all of the other 5MT series. The equalizers, dynamics units and input amplifiers are all the same. For e. g., the modules CO5-D2, CO5-C and the mono versions of the CO5-TV series are fitted with the famous original adt-audio G Channel EQ. Mono and stereo dynamics units are identical to the versions used in the D series.

8 sends are available in the system. The stereo cue send and 6 mono aux-sends are supplemented in most module types with an extention that allows to form additional sends using the routing system. With all inline modules every send can be switched to one of the signal chains separately.

The main fader of all modules as well as the upper fader in the inline modules CO5-C2 and CO5-D2 can be automated with the CAS fader automation system. The CAS computer will control up to 256 faders. The resolution of 10 bits is dB linear and reproduces the fader values with level accuracy of 0.1 dB with time accuracy up to 1/4-frame. A keyboard and a colour monitor, which can be integrated into the meter bridge, are also part of the system.
