The Bass Redirector For all 6 channels there is a BASS FROM switch, which redirects the signal through the bass matrix. The output of this matrix is passed through a low pass filter with adjustable frequency and level control, and the ADD-TO switch, will add the output of this unit, which represents the low frequency band signal below the selected edge frequency to the selected channel. The HPF-ON switches on each channel are used to activate a high-pass filter which also uses the selected edge frequency of the bass matrix. In this way it is possible to apply the low frequency signal to any number of output channels, while all other output channels can be set in a quasi mid-high speaker mode using the high-pass filter. In addition, all the low frequency information that is added by the FROM switches to the bass matrix can be sent through a separate level control to a dedicated subwoofer output. This feature is activated by the SUBWOOFER ON switch. The REDIR ON switch insert the entire unit into the signal chain; however, the additional subwoofer output is active even if the unit is in bypass mode. A 4 position stepper switch selects the crossover frequency for the filters. The default frequency are 50 Hz, 80 Hz, 120 Hz and USER. The user frequency is 160 Hz if not otherwise specifed by the customer. |
